I added a semester countdown (December 19th) to my sidebar. This is so cool and I am really glad I learned how to add this feature!
The default colors for the countdown are white background and black text. I changed the colors (to white text and blue background) so they matched my blog site theme. I did this by going into Theme Designer and hovering over my selected theme colors so I could see the codes corresponding to my theme colors. I then typed in the six-digit color codes for the component on the countdown that I wanted to be a particular color of my blog theme.
I may play with the colors again later, but for now, I really like the way it looks!
